After many years of wondering whether to purchase surge protection for your home electrical panel and not quite getting around to it, the NEC 2023 has it covered. The protection has always been a great idea and finally a requirement in the Code. Make sure you check with your Insurance Company as you add the protection, because you may find you will receive a nice discount on your premium. The manufacturers also are able to, in some cases, replace major appliances that are proven to be destroyed because of a faulty device. So, pretty hard to lose on this one!
